The first Bitcoin futures ETF in the United States began trading on Tuesday, stimulating the price of Bitcoin to rise. According to CoinDesk's data, the price of Bitcoin surpassed US$66,000 at close to 10 p.m. Hong Kong time, reaching a high of US$66,283.96, breaking through the high of US$64,900 set in mid-April. Fund management company ProShares revealed that its "ProShares Bitcoin Futures ETF" (US: BITO), which was approved by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for listing, was listed on the New York Stock Exchange on the first day of listing. Seed funding of USD 10,000 soared to USD 570 million, reflecting the enthusiasm of investors for virtual currency assets.
ProShares said the ETF had approximately $1 billion in trading volume on the first day. The company cited data from Bloomberg, stating that its ETF is the second-largest newly listed ETF in terms of trading volume on record. The price of the ETF closed at $41.94 on Tuesday, an increase of 4.9%.
